India Retail Inflation stands at 4.45 percent in July 2026

India’s retail inflation for July 2026 was 4.45% compared to July 2025, based on the new 2024 base year. Rural areas faced an inflation rate of 4.84%, while urban areas had a lower rate of 3.96%. Food inflation, according to the Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI), was 5.52% in July 2026, with rural areas at 5.79% and urban areas at 5.05%. Housing inflation was recorded at 2.22%, with rates of 2.80% in rural areas and 2.01% in urban areas. These figures are provisional, released by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
