US stocks shines as risk sentiment wanes

US equities advanced Friday as crude oil prices moderated and overall risk appetite persisted. The technology sector spearheaded the ascent as markets positioned in advance of the forthcoming earnings releases.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, a gauge of leading equities, the technology-centric Nasdaq Composite, and the S&P 500, a broad market index, advanced 0.8%, 0.6%, and 0.6%, respectively, in the previous trading session.

The S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq advanced 1.2%, 0.9%, and 0.6% respectively over the week. The Nasdaq’s performance marked its fourth successive weekly increase.
