Quick Wrap: Nifty Commodities Index records a surge of 4.01%, NIFTY climbs 1.68%

Nifty Commodities index ended up 4.01% at 9325.65 today. The index has added 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Reliance Industries Ltd rose 11.60%, Tata Steel Ltd added 5.83% and JSW Steel Ltd gained 5.13%. The Nifty Commodities index has decreased 1.00% over last one year compared to the 8.87% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index increased 3.92% and Nifty Infrastructure index added 3.70% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.68% to close at 23440.8 while the SENSEX increased 1.66% to close at 75692.78 today.
